Only 23 minutes from Devonport, Railton Hotel is the ideal stopover when disembarking from the Spirit of Tasmania. Railton is situated between Latrobe and Sheffield, on the scenic route to Cradle Mountain. Railton's Topiary is a part of Tasmania's Outdoor Art Gallery and in this unique town with a history steeped in industrial and farming heritage, you will find over 150 living sculptures.
The first Hotel was built in around 1858. Early days saw mainly farmers and timber workers as the main patrons. The railway line was completed in 1885 and things went well until the wooden hotel burnt down and the present Pub was built on the same site in 1910.
Railton Hotel has seven standard and family rooms with shared bathroom facilities, that can accommodate up to 18 guests. Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, electric blankets, heating and television. Camping with guest shower and bathroom facilities is available at the rear of the Pub. Ample car parking is available.
You can enjoy hearty country counter lunches and dinners in the heritage pub, as well as around at the pool table. Their restaurant area seats up to 30 people and can be booked for functions.
